We SAVE Indonesia organized a joint Beach Clean Up and 1000 Mangrove Movement as part of a long-term commitment to environmental recovery, climate resilience, and youth-driven ecological education.
Program Background
Coastal areas in West Nusa Tenggara face recurring challenges from unmanaged waste and erosion. Through this movement, We SAVE Indonesia connected volunteers, local communities, and institutional partners to restore shoreline quality while building practical environmental responsibility.
What Happened on the Ground
The action combined beach cleaning, waste sorting, and mangrove planting in selected coastal points. Volunteers were grouped into field teams for debris collection, data logging, and planting coordination. Community members, students, and local partners participated in each stage to ensure collective ownership of the impact.
"Environmental recovery is strongest when local communities lead and young people stay involved consistently."
Key Outcomes
- Improved cleanliness and visibility across targeted shoreline areas.
- Planted mangrove seedlings to support long-term coastal protection.
- Increased public awareness about waste behavior and ecosystem health.
- Strengthened cross-sector collaboration for future environmental programs.

Why This Matters
This news reflects more than a one-day event. The movement demonstrates how local organizations can deliver measurable environmental outcomes through recurring action, structured volunteer management, and education-first communication.
Next Agenda
We SAVE Indonesia will continue expanding beach and mangrove activities with stronger volunteer onboarding, school collaboration, and community campaign programs to scale impact across more coastal regions.
